A God Beyond Measure

April 01, 2025

"It is good to give thanks to the Lord,

And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; "

-  Psalms 92:1 (NKJV)

If we could measure God, what would the scale read? If we could measure His height, His greatness, or His majesty, the only fitting description would be “The Most High.”

Our God is beyond human understanding, incomparable, and limitless. Psalm 92:1 declares that it is good to praise Him because He is the Most High, a title that reflects His supreme position over all creation.

The title “Most High” (El Elyon) reveals that God is unparalleled and unrivalled in His greatness. He reigns supreme, and everything in creation must look up to Him. Psalm 123:1 reminds us to lift our eyes to Him who dwells in the heavens, recognizing His exalted position.

Even when the enemy, Satan, tried to seize this position (Isaiah 14:14), God boldly declared that no one could compare to Him. He does not share His glory or His throne. He alone reigns as the Most High over all creation.

God is not only the Most High because of His title—His works testify to His supremacy.

In Isaiah 40:25-26, God challenges us: "To whom then will you liken Me, Or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things."

From the vastness of the universe to the tiniest details of our lives, God’s creative power reveals His unparalleled greatness. The heavens, the stars, and even the solar eclipse stand as testimonies to His brilliance, all set in motion by His wisdom and strength.

God’s position as the Most High is unmatched and unshakable.

In Exodus 18:11 (NKJV), Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, declares, " Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods; for in the very thing in which they behaved proudly, He was above them." God’s ability to humble the proud and display His power over every challenge affirms His greatness.

God is the Most High, therefore, our response should be one of gratitude and trust. Psalms 92:1 reminds us that it is good to give thanks and sing praises to His name.

Worshiping the Most High is not merely an obligation, but a privilege that shifts our focus from ourselves to His sovereignty and power.

When we encounter challenges, recalling that God is the Most High, fills us with hope and boosts our confidence. As Jethro declared, God is superior to all other powers, and He will show His strength in every situation.

God’s position as the Most High is unmatched and unshakable. When you lift your eyes to Him in praise and trust, you align your life with His supreme power and greatness. Let your life reflect the glory of the One who reigns above all!

Prayer -  Heavenly Father, You are the Most High, and there is none like You. I lift my eyes to You and acknowledge Your greatness, Your power, and Your supremacy over all creation. Thank You for being a God who reigns above every situation in my life. Help me to trust You more and to always remember that You are greater than anything I face. May my life be a song of praise to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
