“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me,
the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do,
because I go to My Father.”
– John 14:12 NKJV
When God told Abraham about the covenant, he thought God was talking about Ishmael, based on his current circumstances Genesis 17:18 NKJV - “And Abraham said to God, “Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!” but God said what I have for you is much more than Ishmael.”
There is someone coming that is greater, Isaac. Genesis 17:19 NKJV - “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac……”
Are you in this similar situation right now? Have you settled for Ishmael rather than trust God for Isaac to come? Today, God is saying to you- Isaac is coming! This is the word for you today, that dream is coming to pass, that baby is coming, that offer letter is coming and that situation is going to change. Were you let down by someone or something in the past? That was Ishmael, your Isaac is on the way. Just believe and trust in the Lord.
Abraham had to let go of Ishmael before Isaac showed up. God is asking you to let go of the hurt, the offence, the rejection, the disappointment and whatever has not worked in your life before now. Make room for your Isaac to manifest.
The magicians in the land of Egypt were referred to as great people but when Moses and Aaron showed up, and their rods swallowed up the rods of the magicians, they became the greater ones. As you show up today at your place of work, in your school, and anywhere you go, you become greater than those ahead of you and your contemporaries. For someone reading this today, God is saying there is much more, don’t stop here, don’t settle for less. Our greatness is in the order of Abraham, Isaac, David, and Jesus Christ.
There is much more!
Exodus 1:7 NKJV But the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, multiplied, and grew exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them. Having an increase is good but abundant increase is better, that is where we ought to be. Being mighty good, but exceedingly mighty is what God has called us into this day. God is still in the business of blessing you beyond measure. You might have thought you have arrived, but God is saying that the journey has just started.
In Acts 7:22- “And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was mighty in words and deeds”. We have been called not just to be mighty in words but also in deeds. Being mighty in words means your words command authority. With these mighty words, Abigail turned back a whole army 1 Samuel 25 NKJV. When you go for that interview, and that meeting, you will no longer speak ordinary words but rather mighty words with influence and power.
Before Moses appeared in the presence of Pharaoh, he was a stammerer Exodus 4:10 NKJV, but after the encounter with God, his words became mighty. Exodus 5:1a “Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Let My people go…”. As you go forth today, your words become laden with power, influence and weight in Jesus' name.
Becoming mighty in deeds: In Acts 19:11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul. A miracle is not an ordinary feat but here we see a higher dimension of miracle – an extraordinary miracle, that would be your experience today. Extraordinary testimonies, extraordinary deliverance, extraordinary wealth, extraordinary favour, extraordinary healing, and extraordinary abundance is your portion this day in Jesus' name.
As you bake that cake- it becomes extraordinary in your hands
As you make that decision in the office - it becomes extraordinary
As you cook that food – extraordinary.
As you go for the exams and interviews - extraordinary
As you serve in the house of the Lord, extraordinary.
As you go about your business, it becomes extraordinary.
As you do the things you do day by day, they become extraordinary
In Ruth 2:1 KJV “And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband's, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz…” the bible talks about a man not just wealthy but mighty in wealth.
There is always much more! May it be said of you, …………. (insert your name) is such a mighty man/woman of wealth.
Song of Worship
He is able, more than able.
To do much more than I could ever dream.
He is able, more than able.
To make me what He wants me to be.
Prayer - Lord, make me exceedingly mighty in words, fruitful in my body, fruitful in the works of my hands, all round fruitfulness, increase me abundantly in Jesus name.
