But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Eph 2:13 NKJV
Have you ever witnessed or experienced the joy that comes from children when their parents return after being away for some time? It is indescribable! The same is true in Genesis 3:8 when God came in the cool of the day to fellowship with man (Adam) in the garden of Eden. He had access to the Father, there was fellowship and literally no barrier between him and God. Shortly after the deception by the devil, man lost access to God. That fellowship was no longer there because of sin.
Therefore, the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. So, He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. (Genesis 3:23-24 NKJV)
That must have been a difficult moment in the life of Adam. Some of us must have experienced a similar situation before. A spouse that once professed love that no longer shows favor towards you, a boss that once commended you but now seems not to notice any good work being done, or it could be a loved one that does not seem to remember you anymore. Unlike with many men who’s love ends when there is a separation, God’s love reached beyond that separation to bring us again to Himself.
You are no longer an outsider but a beloved child of God, granted unrestricted access to His presence.
Thanks be to God who has brought us to Himself through the death of Jesus. You have been restored to God by His blood according to Ephesians 2:18:
“For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.”
Christ has removed that barrier that sin brought between God and man. This access is not based on merit or status but is freely given through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The moment we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, a profound transformation occurs. You are no longer an outsider but a beloved child of God, granted unrestricted access to His presence. Your sins are forgiven, and the righteousness of Christ covers you, allowing you to approach the throne of grace with confidence. Access to God is not a distant hope but a present reality for you.
Walk in that reality today. God is not far from you. In fact, He is not just near you, but inside you! Connect with Him today—for answered prayers, for inspiration, and even just for His sweet presence. Access is granted!

Prayer - Father, I come before You with a heart overflowing with gratitude for the access granted to me through Jesus Christ. Lord, I thank You for tearing down the barriers of sin and making a way for me to draw near to You. Thank You for the sacrifice of Your Son, who bridged the gap between us, restoring me to a right relationship with You. As I go forth from this moment of reflection, may Your presence go with me and may it draw others into the embrace of Your love.
