That is what the scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” But it was to us that God revealed these things by his spirit. For his spirit searches out everything and show us God’s deep secrets.”
1 Corinthians 2:9-10
God assigns each of us a unique mission. We must devote time and effort to studying and communing with God to complete this assignment, which we then present to our teacher, Jesus Christ. But what happens when we pursue this assignment, often referred to as our dreams?
In our pursuit, we navigate obstacles, and one of the most formidable challenges is encountering cheap imitations. These imitations are crafted to steal, confuse, and instill doubt regarding our unique assignment. They make us question our uniqueness and the authenticity of our path. Just as Pharaoh ordered his sorcerers to mimic the signs and wonders
performed by Moses through God’s power to maintain his rule, we may encounter opposition that tries to undermine our authenticity. They might say, “I can do that too; you’re not special.”
However, we must remember that even as Pharaoh’s sorcerers could imitate Moses for a time, God sometimes allows things to be replicated as a test of our faith and dedication to giving glory to Him for what He will do next. Moses remained steadfast in his faith and his adherence to God’s visions, clearly demonstrated as he outshone the sorcerers. He adhered to
the exact dimensions God provided for the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and achieved success.
Just as Pharaoh ordered his sorcerers to mimic the signs and wonders performed by Moses through God’s power to maintain his rule, we may encounter opposition that tries to undermine our authenticity.
To stay true to ourselves and avoid imitating others, we must stay closely connected to God, relentlessly pursue our assigned mission, remain steadfast regardless of circumstances, and receive God’s blessings. We must remember that our destiny is a unique path, one that demands our unwavering commitment to preserving our strength and focus, knowing
that we cannot achieve it alone.
In the face of cheap imitations, seek God’s discernment and wisdom, comparing them to your vision. If they don’t align, pray for the conviction to press onward. Keep a record of ideas that come to you; this can serve as a helpful reminder of what needs to be done. Discernment and wisdom will help distinguish between ideas that are easily achievable and those
that require God’s divine intervention.
If you struggle with laziness, pray for the grace to take action. If your dream is significant, pray for God’s divine power to achieve it. When doubt creeps in, turn to God for clarity and strength. Stand firm on your vision amidst distractions. Remember, your destiny is unique, and it’s your responsibility to nurture it.
