For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
- 2 Timothy 1:7
As we bring this series on the demonstration of dominion to a close, let us consider an important piece of the puzzle for manifesting dominion as Christians.
We started out talking about renewing our minds for dominion. Today, let’s delve specifically into the need to uproot fear from our hearts.
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Fear will always knock on our doors, but we must choose not to open the door and welcome it in. As we face challenges and seek to establish dominion in different aspects of our lives, it is natural to feel fear when confronted by circumstances.
It can be scary receiving a negative medical report. It can be scary facing difficult financial times or the impending loss of a relationship. But we must never let that fear control us. The Spirit of God dwelling inside of us, is far greater than any worry, fear or anxiety. Greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Instead of fear, let us focus on possibilities and not the limitations—this will cause faith to rise up in us. Look beyond the present and focus on the future that God has in store for you (Mark 9:23 – Everything is possible for the one who believes). Focus on the abundant promises that God has said made to you in the Bible.
Isaiah 43:18-19 reminds us to forget the former things and not dwell on the past, because God is doing a new thing. So what, if they may have laughed at your dreams or said you lacked the experience or ability. That is just the enemy trying to hold you from gaining dominion. Let go of any past limitations and embrace new possibilities.
When fear comes, answer it with God’s promise in His word for you.
Is there any area where you feel powerless or not in control, turn to God in prayer and declare scripture over your life and situations. Reaffirm all of God’s promises and step into the fullness of the dominion God intended for you today.
Song of Worship
You unravel me with a melody; You surround me with a song
Of deliverance from my enemies; Till all my fears are gone
I'm no longer a slave to fear I am a child of God
I'm no longer a slave to fear I am a child of God
Song: “No Longer Slaves" by Bethel Music
Prayer -God has not given me the spirit of fear. I declare I have BOLDNESS. My mind is SOUND, and I operate in LOVE. Nothing can resist God’s word in my life. I am victorious as I receive and walk in God’s leading for my life into a reality of full dominion. In Jesus Name! Amen.
