Embracing God as Alpha

July 10, 2024

Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.”

Isaiah 44:6

In Isaiah 44:6, God emphasizes His eternal existence, His sovereignty, and His unmatched authority. Understanding God as the First and the Last can transform our perspective on life, providing us with assurance and hope. Recognizing God as Alpha means acknowledging Him as the beginning of all things, the initiator of creation, and the one who starts new things in our lives.

God’s declaration in Isaiah 44:6 is not an isolated statement. In Isaiah 41:4, God says, "Who has done such mighty deeds? summoning each new generation from the beginning of time? It is I, the Lord, the First and the Last. I alone am he." These verses remind us that God's power and presence span all generations, from the very beginning to the very end.

From the very beginning, God has been performing mighty deeds. Genesis 1:1 says, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." Everything we see, touch, and experience began with Him. The same God who initiated creation can initiate new beginnings in our lives.

Today, let’s invite Alpha—the Beginning—into our midst. When we recognize and welcome God as Alpha, we open the door for new things to be created in our lives. If there is something you are looking for or a new season you desire, trust that Alpha can and will initiate it.

Isaiah 43:19 declares "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." In the name of Jesus Christ, the resurrected Alpha, we pray for new beginnings.

Lift your voice and ask Jesus, the Alpha, to start new things in your life today. What are you trusting God to do? What new thing do you want to see? Call upon Alpha to initiate these desires in your life.

Understanding God as Alpha brings a sense of hope and expectation. He is the initiator of creation and the author of new beginnings. By inviting Him into our lives and trusting in His timing, we can experience the mighty deeds He has promised from the beginning. Let us embrace Alpha and celebrate the new things He is doing in our lives.

Song of Worship

And the angels cry, Holy

All creation cries, Holy

You are lifted high, Holy

Holy forever

Prayer -  Heavenly Father, we thank You for being the Alpha, the beginning of all things. We acknowledge Your sovereignty and power to create new beginnings in our lives. Lord Jesus, we ask You to start new things in our lives today. Whatever we are believing for, we trust You to initiate it. Open our eyes, ears, and hearts to perceive the new things You are doing. May we always embrace Your plans with faith and gratitude. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen
