Embracing God’s seasons

“ Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; "

Today’s devotional is designed to encourage and inspire you as you navigate the various seasons of life. The Bible teaches us that there is a time for everything, and in each season, God has a purpose for us. As we reflect on selected verses from the Scriptures, may you find strength, hope, and guidance for the specific season you are in. Life is designed in seasons. Even before man was created, the different seasons was made by God as we could see from our anchor scriptures in Gen 1:14.
In Gen 8:22 we read: While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.
Looking at the natural seasons we have in the world today, we know the summer season makes the people go out with light clothing, and we have lots of heat from the sun. However, once winter shows up, there is need to dress up with winter jackets to conserve heat, a total opposite of what we would have done in the summer. One of the things that comes with seasons is change and if we must successfully live through a new season, we must embrace change.
A problem arises when you try to live in the winter with summer clothing and mindset. Even though a season is not designed to last forever, you must recognize which season you are in and make the best out of it. For some, it is a time to sow, some a season of harvest, some a time to praise God, and to another this is the season to prepare for what is to come. Change is inevitable, and each season carries its own significance and makes its own demands. Trust that God's timing is perfect and embrace the changes He orchestrates in your life.
Recognize which season you are in and know what to do.
Peradventure, you are going through a season of trials now and it seems it is never going to end. Trust in the plan of God for your life as He said in Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Even in seasons of uncertainty, trust that God has a plan for your life. His intentions are for your prosperity, hope, and a future filled with purpose. Many believers tend to complain and break down when things are not working, and it seems all hope is lost. The way out is to recognize which season you are in and knowing what you need to do in that season.
Look at the life of Paul when he was beaten and thrown in the prison in what appears to be a season of pain, shame, and persecution. He looked at the impossible situation around him and turned it around by praying and singing praises unto God (Acts 16:25-26).
As you journey through the seasons of life, remember that God makes everything beautiful in His time. Trust His perfect timing, and rest assured that each season has a purpose in His divine plan. As you keep looking into the Word and spending time in His presence, the Lord reveals unto you what you need to do at every point in time so you can truly be launched into your season of gladness.

Prayer - Heavenly Father, thank you for guiding us through the various seasons of life. Help us trust in Your perfect timing and find strength, hope, and purpose in every circumstance. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
