Embracing The Power Of Relationships

God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

 - Psalm 68:6 (KJV)

Today, we delve into a core essence of our existence - relationships. In Genesis 2:18, God explicitly states, "It is not good for man to be alone." This profound truth reminds us of our inherent need for connection, both with God and with others.

God, in His infinite wisdom, created us to thrive in relationships. Just as a plant needs water and sunlight to grow, our souls need the nourishment that comes from healthy relationships. Psalm 68:6 reinforces this by saying, "God sets the lonely in families..."

Sadly, it is very common to be alone even when we are surrounded by people. Especially in modern times, living in big cities, it seems there are so many people around us. Even though we pass people on the streets, in transit, and even in our neighborhoods, these people are strangers to us. Having people around is better than nothing but it does not compare to being connected and enjoying nourishing relationships.

We must remember that our visions need relationships to come to fulfilment; this is just how God has designed us.

It is easy for the feeling of isolation to creep into our hearts even when we are surrounded by people if those people are emotionally distant; this isolation is often a tool used by the enemy to weaken us. When we are alone, doubts and fears can easily take root, but in the company of good friends and fellow believers, we find strength, encouragement, and a sense of belonging; these relationships are the soil in which our faith can grow strong and resilient.

The Bible is filled with stories that remind us that our connections often have a broader context and purpose. Esther 4, for instance, we see how Esther’s relationship with Mordecai was part of God’s plan to save His people. This shows us that our relationships are part of a big picture. We must remember that our visions need relationships to come to fulfilment; this is just how God has designed us. He does not want us to be solitary—that is why He sets us in families.

So today, reflect on your relationships. Are there areas where you have allowed isolation to creep in? Perhaps you have been avoiding church gatherings or not reaching out to friends and family. Remember, God uses these relationships to bless us, to mold our character, and to show His love in tangible ways.

Make an effort to connect. Attend a church service, join a Bible study group, or simply call a friend. Maybe you can reach out to a family member. Each step towards building relationships is a step towards fulfilling God's design for our lives. Remember, you are not meant to walk this journey alone. Embrace the power of relationships and watch how God transforms your life through them.

  Reckless Love

                                                          Song by Cory Asbury

Prayer - Dear Lord, bring me in contact with the people you have ordained to walk with me through every phase of my life’s journey. Help me realize that relationships are a part of your plan for me. Separate me from harmful ones and establish me in the right ones—especially in Your house. Amen.
