Empowered to dream

MARCH 18, 2024

Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance to the tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When the two of them stepped forward, he said, “Listen to my words: “When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams. - Numbers 12:5-6

Today, is the first day in a series on dreams. Dreams are not just figments of our imagination but powerful visions that can shape our future and propel us towards our God-given destiny. In Genesis 15:4-6, we see how God used a dream to paint a picture of promise and hope for Abraham, illustrating the abundant blessings He had in store for him and his descendants. We too can tap into the transformative power of dreams by engaging with God's Word and allowing it to shape the visions we hold for our lives this devotional will navigate how.

The Bible is not merely a collection of stories and teachings, but a dream book filled with promises and possibilities waiting to be unlocked. When we open Scripture, we encounter a wealth of promise that serves as an opportunity to paint a picture of our future.

Every word spoken by God is a seed of potential, waiting to be planted in the fertile soil of our hearts and minds. As we meditate on these promises, allowing them to take root within us, we begin to envision the life that God has destined for us.

For example, when we read passages like Psalm 1:3, which declares that "everything you do shall prosper," we are invited to paint a picture of success and abundance in all areas of our lives. Likewise, when we read verses like Numbers 6:25, which speaks of God lifting up His countenance upon us, we can envision His favor and blessing resting upon us wherever we go.

The key to dreaming with purpose lies in our willingness to engage with God's Word and allow it to shape our thoughts, attitudes, and expectations. As we immerse ourselves in Scripture, allowing its truths to permeate our being, we begin to see ourselves and our circumstances through the lens of faith rather than fear or doubt.

As believers, we are called to live lives characterized by visionary living—seeing beyond the natural realm into the supernatural realm of God's kingdom. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to dream dreams that align with God's purposes and see visions that reveal His divine plans for our lives and the world around us.

Today, be encouraged to embrace the power of God's Word as a catalyst for dreaming. Spend time in prayer and meditation, allowing the Holy Spirit to illuminate the promises God has spoken over your life. As you do, may your heart be filled with hope, vision, faith, and expectation, knowing that God is faithful to bring to pass every word He has spoken.

Prayer - Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word and the promises contained within it. Help me to engage with Your Word with an open heart and mind, allowing it to shape my dreams and aspirations.
