"Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods?
Who is like You, glorious in holiness,
Fearful in praises, doing wonders."
-Exodus 15:11 (NKJV)
Who is qualified to praise God?
The redeemed! One of the greatest songs of praise recorded in the Bible is from Exodus 15:1-19. This was the song of Moses and the Israelites after the Lord saved them from the Egyptians.
So the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore (Exodus 14:30).
Those who have been saved, who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour (John 3:16) and have their names written in the book of life (Revelations 20:15) qualify to praise God.
The persecuted! Life presents difficulties every now and then. These difficulties may be in the form of persecution…persecution in life, at home, in marriage, at work, in school, in finances and so on. The Israelites were persecuted in Exodus 1:13-14 “and worked them ruthlessly. They made their lives bitter with harsh labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their harsh labor the Egyptians worked them ruthlessly”. All the persecution from the Egyptians culminated in songs of praises (to God) from the Israelites in Exodus 15:1-19. Those who face persecution qualify to praise God.
Those who are redeemed, persecuted, or have messed up are all qualified to praise God.
Those who messed up! Jesus in John 16:33 let us know that there will be challenges in life. What we do when face these challenges is important. He recommended that we be of good cheer. This is not always the case unfortunately, as Christians sometimes default to their rudimentary instincts when faced with the pressures of life.
In Exodus 14:10-12, when the Israelites saw that Pharaoh and his armies were upon them, they made untoward remarks to Moses (and to God indirectly), berating him for leading them out of Egypt, preferring instead to have remained in their servitude to the Egyptians. God in His mercy overlooked their rebellion and through Moses, parted the Red Sea for them to walk on dry ground, drowning the Egyptians who attempted to follow. In the end, they praised God in Exodus 15:1-19. Despite their mess, they qualified to praise God.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, are you saved? Praise God! Are you in trouble? Praise God!! Have you said things you shouldn’t have when faced with difficulty? Praise God!!!
You are qualified to praise.

When I think of the goodness of Jesus
And all He has done for me, my very soul will sing Hallelujah
Praise God, for saving me.
Prayer - Dear Lord, I praise you for my salvation and redemption. I praise you during hard times. I praise you in spite of my mistakes in Jesus name, Amen!
