And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey... Exodus 3:7-8
God is on a mission to help His children! It is easy for us to forget this when we are in the midst of challenging or unfulfilling times. But in our anchor Scripture for today, we read God's declaration in Exodus. First God acknowledges that He has heard the cry of His people - The Israelites. This cry represents their prayers for deliverance.
You might have been going through a challenging time also. Maybe there is an issue or desire that has been hanging for a long time. Remember that as a born again Christian, you are a spiritual Israelite. Galatians 3:7-9 declares to us that: Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.”So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
As you pray believe that God hears you just as He heard the children of Israel. And similarly, as we read in Exodus 3, He knows the sorrows you are feeling and He is indeed "come down to deliver you out of the hand of the Egyptians". In other words, He is come to save you out of Egypt. And not just out of Egypt, but to bring you into a "good and large land".
...the land of Egypt represents a state of being under the oppression of Satan and sin. Therefore to be delivered in this sense is to have liberty from limiting forces of oppression and sin.
The land of Egypt represents bondage. Bondage is any situation that hampers the full expression of God in your life. Specifically, Pharoah, the king of Egypt who was denying the children of Israel their freedom, represents the Devil. And the land of Egypt represents a state of being under the oppression of Satan and sin. Therefore to be delivered in this sense is to have liberty from limiting forces of oppression and sin.
Through our redemption by Christ, we know that our prayers are answered because Christ Himself makes intercession (that is, prays) for us to God (Romans 8:34) And because of this, we can expect God to manifest His presence with miracles and wonders to bring us out of Egypt by His mighty hand.
Realize today that God is on a mission - for you! He has heard your prayers and He is set to manifest His presence for your profit. He is set to perform mighty miracles to bring you into a good and large land. Give Him thanks and praise for this reality. And stand fast in faith for the full manifestation of your deliverance.
