And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak.
- 2 Corinthians 4:13
Yesterday, we explored four characteristics of audacious faith. Today, we will delve into how to activate audacious faith. Keep in mind that for us to encounter the manifestation of God’s promises and miracles we desire, we must believe, activate and grow our faith.
Audacious faith can be acquired by listening to and believing in the gospel. Simply put, the origin of audacious faith is the gospel. What then is this gospel? The gospel as contained in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4: God became human in Jesus Christ and He died for our sins, He was buried and on the third day He arose again, and He is coming back (paraphrased).
As plain and simple as this sounds, this gospel is the center of our audacious faith as Christians. The gospel is so potent because it reemphasizes the power of God to save us from all sin, sicknesses, or curses, and to overcome every challenge in life. Also, because of the gospel, we have eternal life and access to immortality. This gospel, which is the truth, grants us access to the promises of God in the Scriptures and translates the truth of God’s word into our tangible reality.
Having identified the source of our audacious faith, how then do we activate audacious faith?
First, we activate faith by speaking authoritatively. We are spirit beings and God gave us mouths for speaking. Audacious Faith speaks boldly! (2 Corinthians 4:13). As believers, we are already persuaded that we are not defined by our current situation or the difficulties and challenges that we face. We know and believe that God’s promises will come to pass in our life. Hence It is from this place of audacious faith and understanding that we speak! Just like David spoke boldly at Goliath despite Goliath’s physically imposing stature and attempts at intimidation.
Secondly, we activate our faith by action! Faith Acts! It is important for us to respond excitedly and immediately to the word of God and the gospel that we have received. In Acts 14:10, after Paul told the lame man to stand up, he “leaped and walked” immediately. That there was an act of his faith.
No more should we remain silent with the faith we have received. It is time to speak and take steps to act on the audacious faith that is within us while being fully confident in the truth and power of the gospel of Christ as our foundation.
Song of Worship
I ask you, "Who is on the Lord's side?" I am on the Lord's side
Are you on the Lord's side? I am on the Lord's side
As we raise our voice to praise
The enemies will bow -Song by Dunsin Oyekan
Prayer -Dear Lord, please open my eyes to the potency of the gospel and let audacious faith be stirred up in me to act in faith and receive Your promises. In Jesus name – Amen.
