Justification Through the Resurrection

April 20, 2025

“Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear."

 Acts 2:29-33 (NKJV)

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of our faith and the ultimate evidence of His life. The empty grave, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and the transformation of lives all bear witness to this glorious truth. Each time you speak in tongues, experience the gifts of the Holy Spirit, or sense His presence, you encounter the proof of His resurrection.

The Holy Spirit was poured out because Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to the Father. As Peter proclaimed on Pentecost, "He poured out this which you now see and hear" (Acts 2:33 NKJV). The living Jesus empowers us to walk in His strength, victory, and the benefits of His resurrection every day.

Before His crucifixion, Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit as our Comforter and Helper. He told His disciples, "It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you" (John 16:7). The Holy Spirit's outpouring on Pentecost fulfilled this promise.

Every time you pray in tongues or feel the Spirit's manifestation; it confirms that Jesus is alive. The Spirit’s work in our lives attests to Christ's intercession at the right hand of God.

Every time you speak in tongues, you proclaim that Jesus is alive.

One of the greatest gifts of resurrection is justification. Paul explains in Romans 4:25 that Jesus was raised to declare us innocent before God. Though we were guilty of sin, Jesus took the punishment for us. When God looks at us, He sees the righteousness of Christ.

God wipes away every trace of our sins: "I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more" (Hebrews 8:12 NKJV). Because of justification, we can boldly proclaim, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1 NKJV).

Through justification, we are free from guilt and shame, standing righteous before God. We are no longer slaves to sin because the resurrection has set us free (Romans 6:14).

Just as the disciples became fearless witnesses after encountering the risen Christ, we too can live boldly for Him. Every time you speak in tongues, you proclaim that Jesus is alive. The Holy Spirit was poured out as a result of His resurrection, as Peter explained: "Having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear" (Acts 2:33).

When you pray in the Spirit, you engage in the ongoing work of the risen Christ, tapping into the power and presence of our living Savior.

Prayer -  Lord Jesus, thank You for the power of Your resurrection. Thank You for justification, for removing my guilt and making me righteous before God. Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who confirms that You are alive and working in my life. Help me to walk boldly in resurrection power, declaring Your victory and living as a testimony of Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
