"He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified."
- John 7:38-39 (NKJV)
When we begin to meditate on God's Word, something profound happens—the Holy Spirit begins to move. In John 7:38-39 (NKJV), Jesus describes the Holy Spirit as living water. This imagery is powerful when applied to meditation. As we meditate on Scripture, the Holy Spirit waters the seed of the Word planted in our hearts, nurturing it to grow and bear fruit.
But here's the challenge: we often don’t meditate consistently enough. We might start, but after a week or two, we stop. True meditation requires persistence. Joshua 1:8 instructs us to meditate on God’s Word Day and night, ensuring that it is deeply rooted in our hearts and minds.
The proof of effective meditation is not just momentary peace but the production of fruit in our lives—a changed mindset, a calm heart, and eventually, a visible transformation in our circumstances. Remember that God’s word is food for our spirit. Depriving ourselves spirit of God’s word is like starving ourselves spiritually. But when we feed and meditate on God’s word, we nourish our spirits.
When we begin to meditate on God's Word, something profound happens—the Holy Spirit begins to move.
When we truly meditate on God’s Word, aligning our thoughts, decisions, and emotions with His truth, we begin to see results. Our focus shifts, our faith strengthens, and we start to see the impossible become possible. As Jesus mentions in Mark 9:29, prayer and fasting amplify this process, helping our belief grow and enabling us to command the impossible in Jesus’ name. Fasting coupled with prayer strengthens our spiritual resolve and aligns us with God's will, making us more receptive to His power and guidance.
So, take a scripture—just one—and meditate on it day and night. Let it consume your thoughts, and as you do, watch as the Holy Spirit begins to move, bringing about the miraculous in your life.

Open the Eyes of My Heart
Song by Michael W Smith
Prayer - Lord, strengthen our resolve to stay rooted in Your Word, even when distractions and doubts try to pull us away. Help us to be patient in the process, trusting that as we meditate, You are at work within us, transforming us into the likeness of Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.
