Prophetic Actions

November 10, 2024

"So, tell them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say.'"

- Numbers 14:28 (NIV)

In our previous study, we looked at prophetic instructions and declarations. Today, we will focus on prophetic actions. These are actions taken in the physical realm that have profound spiritual implications and produce results.

Similar to the prophetic instructions and declarations we earlier discussed, a prophetic action might not make sense when judged through a natural, logical lens. We will take lessons from our text in 2 Kings 13:18-19 NKJV: “Then he said, ‘Take the arrows’; so, he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, ‘Strike the ground’; so, he struck three times and stopped. And the man of God was angry with him and said, ‘You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.’”

A prophetic action is a summary of what you are seeking in a version that you can dominate and control.

When we analyze the above text from a purely human perspective, the natural eye would see only a man striking the ground three times. However, in the spirit, a war just transpired through that prophetic action. Logically, there was no correlation, but spiritually, it was significant. Thus, we can deduce that a prophetic action is a summary of what you are seeking in a version that you can dominate and control. In a war situation, the king would typically go with an army, spears, and possibly the latest precision-guided missiles. However, in the School of the Spirit, all the ammunition was condensed into an arrow—the entirety of Syria represented by a spot on the ground.

For someone seeking employment, writing your offer letter could serve as your own prophetic action. Praising God while dressed as a pregnant woman could also count as an action for someone desiring the fruit of the womb. When Jesus fed the five thousand men in John 6:1-14, everyone could see that the food was barely enough for five people. Yet, Jesus performed a prophetic action by giving thanks over just five loaves and two small fish. He demonstrated the same principle of dominating a version within control, which was replicated in the natural realm. That action provoked a miracle and caused multiplication amid scarcity.

There is always a version of your need that you have dominion over. Turn that into a point of contact for the prophetic to manifest. It could be anything that represents your desired outcome. As you provoke the supernatural today through your prophetic actions, may your expectations become a reality in Jesus' name.

Song of Worship

God cannot lie

His words will surely come to pass

Because He is not a man

Prayer - Lord, thank You for the insight and wisdom You have given us through the study of prophetic actions. Help us to be sensitive to Your voice and obedient to Your direction, that our actions may align with Your purposes and bring glory to Your name.
