And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke.
Joel 2:28-30
Time is the measure of life; you are what you do with your time. As we begin to understand that the time, the days, and the plans for our lives are in the hands of God, (Psalms 31:15) “My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me”, we begin to have a sense of how important it is to hear from Him concerning that plan. One great tool God has empowered us with for this is access to the prophetic.
Now, there is a difference between a prophet and the prophetic, being prophetic, does not necessarily make you a prophet. The office of a prophet is a calling, while being prophetic means to have an encounter with the Holy Ghost that produces a result. For something to be prophetic, it must come from divine revelation. God is the source of all spiritual knowledge so without spiritual sight, we cannot operate in the prophetic. The prophetic is one of the provisions God has made for us.
The office of a prophet is a calling, while being prophetic means to have an encounter with the Holy Ghost that produces a result.
Anything that is truly prophetic will never contradict the word of God. Knowing what God has planned for your life and how He wants you to live out His plan is part of the prophetic advantage. This prophetic advantage grants us speed, and this speed empowers us to be ahead. What may have taken other people ten years to accomplish, can take you ten days to achieve through the prophetic.
Life is riddled with challenges but God in His mercy through the Holy Spirit has created a platform where He releases His revelation knowledge through His prophets. This is to propel and empower the people of God with wisdom, direction, and insight into the council of His will. If there was ever a time when God’s people needed an advantage, it is now.
The starting point for prophetic people is to be submitted to divine authority. The prophetic involves a level of engagement with the Holy Spirit that leads to the release of prophetic instructions which require strict adherence. Failure to follow these instructions could lead to a termination of the prophetic. When you honour the prophetic, there is always a flow of creative miracles which provides proof.
2 Kings 13:17-19 “Open the east window,” he said, and he opened it. “Shoot!” Elisha said, and he shot. “The Lord’s arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Aram!” Elisha declared. “You will completely destroy the Arameans at Aphek.” Then he said, “Take the arrows,” and the king took them. Elisha told him, “Strike the ground.” He struck it three times and stopped. The man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times.”
Because Joash stopped short in his faith in God and obedience to the prophetic, he missed out on the fullness of blessing from God.
To be complacently satisfied with the basics when we have such a wonderful God is like going to an amusement park only to remain in the parking lot. There is so much more available to us a Christians if we would only be more sensitive to the prophets around us and
You may think you are at your optimum speed right now but there is a speed called greater, there is a place called better - may God release it to us in Jesus' name.
