Spiritual Standing in Christ

April 16, 2024

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse

 Romans 1: 19-20 (KJV)

One of the interesting things about God and the invisible realm, is that it is not beyond understanding. We may not see the invisible realm, but as humans, we have an idea through God’s creation of the Heavens and the earth.

There is an intentionality to everything that God has created as there is no part of this physical realm that was not created according to God’s image and likeness. In the Bible, God’s voice is described as one of many waters, that of a great thunder (Revelation 14:2). Now imagine how terrifying the sound of thunder can be due to its unexpected nature and loudness. Is this not a reflection of the spiritual in the physical realm? Considering this, what is your standing in the spiritual?

To be called a Christian is to have a grasp of your place in the spiritual and its importance. There should be an awareness and longing to be more like Christ even with the struggles that we face as humans. Your standing in the spiritual realm is a testament to how committed you are to building a relationship with God. It takes dedication and a decision to choose God continuously even when it seems difficult physically.

In the Bible verse 1 Peter 3:19, we are told that Christ was put to death in the flesh but was raised to life in the Spirit. This shows that Jesus experienced worse and understands how difficult it can be yet, it is doable because the end goal is worth it.

There should be an awareness and longing to be more like Christ even with the struggles that we face as humans.

Another reason to secure your spiritual standing in Christ is to wade off the plans of the devil. In Ephesians 6: 10-18, we are asked to be strong in the Lord and put on His Armour because our struggles are not against flesh and blood but against principalities and the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly place.

To put on God’s Armour is to be truthful, righteous, and peaceful in your dealings. It is to have faith even when there is no evidence to be seen. It is to consume the word of God diligently and pray in the spirit fervently. Only through these can we stand our ground when we find ourselves in tough times.

Go forth today in the awareness that you are a spiritual being and just like in the physical, capable of building strength and capacity in the spiritual realm.

Song of Worship

 I surrender all– 2x.

On to him my blessed Saviour - 1x

I surrender all– 1x.

Prayer -  Dear Lord, thank you for the crucifixion and the chance to be born again through Jesus Christ. Help us understand and dedicate our lives to building a relationship with you Lord and when things are tough, give us the strength to ask for help. May we not forget who we are in Christ in Jesus Name, Amen.
