And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. - Exodus 15:26
Exodus 14:13 is a powerful verse that captures a pivotal moment in the history of the Israelites as they faced the Red Sea before them and the pursuing Egyptian army behind them. Moses, the leader appointed by God, spoke these words to the people in the midst of their fear and panic: "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again". This powerful proclamation encapsulates the promise of deliverance and victory that God offers to His people.
In our lives, we may face modern-day "Egyptians" - oppressive forces, challenges, and obstacles that seek to enslave us and hinder our progress. These may manifest as sickness, disease, financial struggles, or relational difficulties. Yet, just as God delivered the Israelites from the grip of Pharaoh and the Egyptians, He promises to deliver us from every form of bondage and oppression.
As believers, we stand in the authority and power of the resurrected Christ. We declare, like Moses, that the Egyptians we see today - whatever form they may take - we shall see them no more. In the name of Jesus, we command every oppressor, every force of darkness, and every sickness to flee from our lives.
Exodus 15:26 reminds us that not only will we be delivered from our enemies, but we will also be free from the sicknesses and afflictions associated with them. Through the redemptive work of Christ, we have been set free from the curses of the past, including sicknesses and diseases.
Therefore, let us lift our heads in faith and confidence, knowing that God is our deliverer and healer. Let us stand firm in His promises, trusting that He will bring about the deliverance and healing we need. May every form of bondage, oppression, and sickness be eradicated from our lives in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
