Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible”. Hebrews 11: 1-3
Faith is a force through which we obtain victory as the Bible teaches that for whatever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that has overcome the world- our faith. Where there is faith, there is success. Faith secures triumph over life’s challenges.
Faith can exceed expectations as well as re-arrange things in our favour. For example, in Acts 3:6, the lame man at the beautiful gate was expecting money from Peter but got a healing miracle which was far better than what he had hoped.
Similarly, Faith can bring forth what is rightfully ours and deliver it to us. Jesus by his death, burial and resurrection purchased healing for us, therefore by faith, we can receive the promises of God. For example, in Mark 5: 28- 34, the woman with the issue of blood was able to seize the healing via her faith, taking it assertively.
Furthermore, Faith can restore whatever is lost, and it does not matter when and how it got lost. The power of faith can bring about restoration. In Acts 3:2, the man at the beautiful gate lost the use of his limbs from his mother’s womb, but had it restored.
...fear and doubt go hand-in-hand and can birth unbelief that can hinder the fulfillment of our hope.
It is also important to know some of the hindrances to the manifestation of faith in our lives. One is dwelling on the past. Remember that Faith can reverse the impact of the past as clearly seen in Hebrews 11:1, faith is in the present. To stay present and focus on the now, it's crucial to let go of the past. We shouldn't allow the enemy to disrupt our minds by reminding us of past issues. Dwelling on the past can limit us, hindering our ability to fully walk in faith and embrace what God is doing in the present.
Also, we must guard against doubt and fear. Especially because fear and doubt go hand-in-hand and can birth unbelief that can hinder the fulfillment of our hope. For example, while Peter was walking on water in Matthew 14:30-33, he began to fear, and he started sinking.
When Jesus grabbed him by the hand, Jesus said “why did you doubt?”. As believers, it is crucial to consistently engage with the Word, in prayer, and fellowship, actively walking in faith as doing so will ensure we rise above unbelief, and the force of faith can operate to the fullest in our lives.
