"Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. "
-2 Corinthians 9:6 NLT
In our last devotional, we started a series on the mystery of the seed and concluded that your seed is a weapon. Where you have lost battle, your seed would fight for you according to Psalms 127:3-5. Today, we would be looking at the versions or forms of seeds that produces a harvest.
There are 3 versions of the seed. First, the word of God is a seed. The quality of the word of God you hear affects your life. David said in Psalms 122:1 that I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.” When you value the word of God, you won’t bother if the church is far or near your house, all that matters is seeking after the word of God.
The Bible was clear in Luke 8:11 that the seed is the word of God. When the word of God is being released, it is your responsibility to foster growth to produce results. Jesus referred to this in Luke 4:4, that the word of God is both bread and seed. The bread satisfies you now, but the seed takes care of your future. Never despise the word of God, go after the seed.
Secondly, your money and valuables could be a seed. This is one area many struggle with. Let us see what the Bible says about money and valuables as a seed. In 2 Corinthians 9:1-15, the Bible talks specifically about acts of giving money as a seed towards the work of God. It is important to know that such seed must be a willing gift, and not one given grudgingly (2 Corinthians 9:5). One of the things that happens when your seed is sown is that God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need, and plenty left over.
Lastly, your acts of kindness and service is a seed. In Galatians 6:9, we are reminded not to get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessings, if we don’t give up. The beautiful thing about sowing seeds of kindness and service is that it always comes around even in a greater measure.
What seed or money would you ever give for long life, good health, divine direction, the gift of being alive, or even peace of mind? Let not the enemy take advantage of you when it comes to seed. God is not mocked, neither will He owe a man a thing, whatever you sow, you will reap. Your seed i is a guarantee for your future.

Prayer - Lord, open my heart and mind to understand the importance of planting seeds of faith, love, resources, and kindness in our lives and in the lives of others. For every seed I have sown, let men give into my bosom, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over in Jesus name.
