The Power of Testimonies

February 26, 2025

"Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. "

- Mark 5:25-29 (NKJV)

Testimonies are powerful reminders of God’s faithfulness and His ability to meet us at the point of our need. The question is: what do you do with the testimonies you hear? The first step is to recognize that God is not partial. Romans 2:11 (NKJV) tells us, "For there is no partiality with God." If He has done it for others, He is both able and willing to do the same for you. The testimonies you hear are not mere stories; they are invitations to engage with Jesus and believe for your own breakthrough.

In Acts 15:8-9, we see that God made no distinction between Jews and Gentiles, granting them the Holy Spirit based on the condition of their hearts. This demonstrates that God’s blessings are available to all who seek Him. So, when you hear testimonies of favor, healing, or deliverance, pay attention to those that resonate with your situation. Return to Jesus with faith and say, "Lord, do the same for me."

For there is no partiality with God.

The Bible is filled with instances of individuals who acted upon the testimonies they heard and experienced miracles. In Mark 5:25-29, the woman with the issue of blood approached Jesus because she had heard of His works. Verse 27 states, "When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment." Her faith was ignited by the testimonies of others, prompting her to seek her own healing. She acted on what she heard, and her faith led to her miracle.

Similarly, in Mark 7:25-30, the Syro-Phoenician woman sought deliverance for her daughter. Verse 25 says, "For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him." Hearing of Jesus’ works gave her the boldness to approach Him. Even when faced with discouragement, she persisted because she believed in the testimonies she had heard. Her determination resulted in her daughter’s healing.

When you hear testimonies, identify the principles behind them and apply them to your own situation. If you hear of someone being rescued from sickness, cry out to Jesus for your own healing, knowing He can do the same for you. Testimonies are evidence of God’s faithfulness and a reminder that He is actively working in the lives of His people. They are not meant to remain as stories but to inspire action and faith.

As you engage with Jesus, remember that He is compassionate and always willing to help. Trust in Him, and let these testimonies strengthen your faith as you await your own breakthrough.

Prayer -  Heavenly Father, thank You for the testimonies that remind us of Your faithfulness and power. Help us to engage You with faith and confidence, knowing that You are not partial and what You have done for others, You can do for us. Lord, we lift up our needs before You today. As we apply the principles we’ve learned, let Your grace and favour work in our lives. May we also have testimonies that glorify Your name and encourage others. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
