" You shall be blessed above all peoples; there shall not be a male or female barren among you or among your livestock."
- Deuteronomy 7:14 (NKJV)
In Deuteronomy 7:14, God makes a powerful promise to His people: none shall be barren. This promise is a declaration of His blessing and provision, not just in the natural realm but in every area of life. When we read such a promise, we must remember that it comes from a God who cannot lie.
When we encounter a promise in Scripture, we must allow it to shape our thoughts, decisions, and emotions. God's Word is truth, and it carries the authority of the One who spoke it. To meditate on God's Word is to immerse ourselves in His truth, allowing it to transform our perspective.
Meditation on Scripture isn't just a passive activity; it's an active declaration of God's truth over our circumstances. This means speaking it to ourselves, thinking deeply about it, and allowing it to take root in our hearts. The goal is for our thoughts and emotions to align fully with God's promises.
God makes a powerful promise to His people: none shall be barren.
Consider the promise that "none shall be barren." If we receive a contrary diagnosis from a doctor, the natural reaction might be fear or doubt. But as we meditate on God's Word, we remind ourselves that His promise is more powerful than any report. We declare to ourselves, "God cannot lie. His Word says none shall be barren, and that includes me."
As we meditate on God's promises, something profound begins to happen. Psalm 1:2-3 (NKJV) describes the person who meditates on God's Word as being like a tree planted by streams of water, flourishing and fruitful. This imagery shows us that meditation is like planting God's Word deep in our hearts, where it can grow and bear fruit in our lives.
God's promises are sure, and they are given to us to meditate on, believe, and act upon. As you meditate on His Word, allow it to take root in your heart, changing your thoughts, decisions, and emotions to align with His truth. Remember, the God who made these promises cannot lie. Hold fast to His Word, meditate on it, and watch as it brings forth fruit in your life.

Draw me close to You
Song by Michael W Smith
Prayer - Lord, help us to meditate on Your Word day and night, allowing it to transform our thoughts and align our lives with Your truth. Strengthen our faith as we stand on Your promises, knowing that You cannot lie. In every area of our lives where there seems to be barrenness, we declare Your promise of fruitfulness and blessing. In Jesus' name, Amen.
