That He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish."
- Ephesians 5:27
God did not create us to be short of His glory but to be filled with His glory always.
The glorious church must have unity of faith because faith is the currency of God, and it is impossible to please God without faith. God is interested in restoring the unity of faith. The knowledge of the son of God is also a characteristic of the glorious church.
In addition, the glorious church must have one spirit as seen in 1 Corinthians 12:13. When we talk about restoration for the church, we cannot have multiple spirits. A church being run by different spirits cannot really become the church where the glory of God resides. The dominant spirit must be the Holy Spirit.
Also, it is possible to be in church and not be in the body of Christ, thus we must examine ourselves to be sure we are truly part of the body of Christ. A true successful church is the church that is called the glorious church – Ephesians 4:13, Matthew 5:48. To experience restoration, we must measure the church and investigate the stature of the church. It must be a church of not only structure but of stature in the fullness of Christ.
The Lord is constantly looking for the church that can be filled with His glory. We must stop doing church for ourselves. As Christians, church for our personal enjoyment should not be our focus but we should focus on God.
There can be no restoration without repentance. If we are to move on to the next phase, God is calling us to repentance - 2 Chronicles 7:14. Repentance is the basic requirement for restoration. For our joy to be full, we must seek the Lord in prayer to restore the joy of our salvation as David cried in Psalm 51:12. There is no true restoration without God’s people returning to Him – Hosea 6:1. If only we will humble ourselves and return to God, then we will surely see the manifestation of His glory.
