The Resurrection: Foundation of Our Faith and Validation of Scripture

April 17, 2025

"For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures"

 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (NKJV)

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not only the cornerstone of our faith but also the ultimate validation of Scripture. From Genesis to Revelation, every prophecy, promise, and truth hinges on the reality of Christ’s resurrection. If Jesus had not risen, the reliability of the Bible would be in question. But praise God, He rose on the third day, confirming that every word in the Scriptures is true and trustworthy.

The Resurrection Confirms the Gospel

Paul succinctly summarizes the Gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4. Every aspect of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection was prophesied and fulfilled exactly as the Word declared. The resurrection assures us that the Gospel is not a myth but a divine reality, reminding us that God’s promises are dependable, and His Word is unchanging.

His resurrection guarantees that every promise in Scripture is true.

The Resurrection Confirms God’s Promises

Without Christ’s resurrection, the promises of God would lack foundation. His resurrection guarantees that every promise in Scripture is true. As Jesus explained to the disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:27), the Scriptures from Moses to the prophets pointed to His death and resurrection.

Are you holding onto a promise from God? Be encouraged—Jesus’ resurrection is proof that what God has spoken, He will fulfill.

The Resurrection Illuminates Scripture

When Jesus appeared to the disciples after His resurrection, He didn’t just show them His wounds; He opened their understanding of the Scriptures.

"And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself." – Luke 24:27 (NKJV).

The resurrection shines a light on the Word of God, revealing its profound truths. Jesus taught that all Scripture points to Him (John 5:39), and His resurrection underscores this reality. Every page of the Bible testifies to the risen Christ.

The Resurrection Gives Us Hope

Because Jesus rose, we can trust every promise in the Bible. The resurrection transforms the Scriptures from a collection of writings into the living Word of God, full of promises that are active for us today. Let this truth fill your heart with hope, strengthen your faith, and inspire you to stand firm on the Word of God.
