"Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:”
- Psalm 103:2 (NKJV)
Take a moment to reflect on your life, even the moments before you fully came to know or follow God. Think about the times when circumstances worked out in your favor, doors opened, or dangers were averted – all without you realizing it at the time. Those weren’t coincidences. They were moments of divine intervention. God’s mercy, grace, and faithfulness have been woven into your story, even when you didn’t recognize it.
Maybe you weren’t born into a Christian home, or perhaps you didn’t grow up knowing God intimately. Yet, looking back now, can you see His fingerprints all over your journey?
As shared in the story, there are times when decisions or circumstances that seemed unfavorable at first ended up being pivotal moments orchestrated by God for a greater purpose. Think of the times in your life when God’s “no” was His protection or times when His redirection led to something far better than you could imagine.
When we remember the faithfulness of God, it becomes impossible not to give Him thanks and praise. It’s not just about the big miracles but also about the little, everyday mercies - the air we breathe, the dangers He shielded us from, and the blessings we didn’t even ask for.
A heart filled with gratitude emits a light that no darkness can overcome.
The Bible says in Lamentations 3:22-23, “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”
The illness that seemed deadly didn’t take our lives. The failures that could have overwhelmed us didn’t break us. We are still standing. Not because of our strength, but because of His faithfulness. This is why we give thanks.
As you think about God’s goodness and faithfulness in your life, allow thanksgiving to flow from your heart. Praise is not just an expression of gratitude; it’s a light that radiates from you. When you praise, you invite God’s presence into your life, and His light shines even brighter through you. The Bible says in Psalm 22:3 that God inhabits the praises of His people.
As you walk into your day – whether it’s an interview, a meeting, or simply going about your tasks – walk in the light of praise. A heart filled with gratitude emits a light that no darkness can overcome. Remember, you are radiating God’s glory because of His mercies and faithfulness in your life.
Right now, wherever you are, take a moment to think about how far God has brought you. Think of the moments you didn’t think you would make it through, yet here you are.

Shine
Song by Matt Redman
Prayer - Father, I thank You for Your mercies, seen and unseen. Thank You for preserving me, guiding me, and blessing me even when I didn’t know You. Help me to live in constant gratitude and let my life shine as a testimony of Your faithfulness. May my praise rise to You continually and invite Your presence into my life every day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
